This is the Middlesbrough Boy Scouts seventh Gang Show and our fourth in this theatre. The Scouts did get started with a Show way back in 1939, but this was cancelled on the outbreak of the war. The first Show was eventually produced in 1950 at St. John's Hall under the title 'The Gang Steps Out'. The Shows of 1951 and 1953 were held at the Empire Theatre (now Bingo crazy) where the Gang Show really packed the people in.

A Musical play 'We'll Live Forever' saw the Gang on the Little Theatre stage in 1958 With the privileged title of 'The Gang Show', the Boy Scouts under the guidance of Irwin Greenwood as their producer, put on their 1960 Show, this was followed by a great Show in 1962.

We have therefore a high standard to keep this year, and those privileged to see this Show will be able to judge for themselves whether or not we have kept the Gang Show Flame as bright as ever. This year's Show has the biggest cast yet and they have been rehearsing since before Christmas in various parts of the town. Each one of the Gang is proud to be taking part in the Show and with the aid of the helpers, scouters and friends, their aim is to give you, the Audience, a Show you will remember for a long long time to come.
